I am drooling this morning! I have been trying to grow my hair out for a couple of years now. T walks out from the bathroom and instantly I am in aw, I want that beautiful, long mane of hers! This is my favorite, when she wears her hair like this. GORGEOUS!!

Tonight me and my girl are going to have movie night, I'm excited! I love spending time with T and love that here and there I'm cool enough to hang out with ;)

Taylor

My rock star that I don't talk about enough.....
She has been home a bit more than usual which is a huge treat!! I am really enjoying our time and having her around. She even made us dinner the other night wahoo! We have a date tomorrow night, she finally talked me into watching Twilight with her. Not into vampires but it'll be fun :-)

Our weekend was pretty good :) Only one hiccup but other than that it was nice! Saturday morning we (Bob, Opie, Friday and myself) went to a Petco store. We did a meet and greet with some greyhounds and their owners. I've been wanting a greyhound for awhile now, so finally we decided to do a meet and greet. I was happy, I was in love, they are such sweet dogs, I want one. But is it the right time? Right dog? They are big, they shed a little more than we thought they would, Opie was a little reserved around them, Friday loved them, I wasn't allergic....oh what do we do!!!???? If it was up to me we'd have one tomorrow but I want everyone in the family on board. So going to sit on this one for a bit......

Anyways, Tina came over after we got back and we had the best run!! We ran 4 1/2 miles and it was great! It was the perfect day for a run to, not too cold out and not too hot. She pushes me and I loved that! I'm still sore today but I loved loved loved the run and loved that it was Tina!

T came home yesterday, that is always a happy time :) Miss her terribly when she is at her dad's. We had a wonderful relaxing day yesterday, we all just sat on the coach and were lazy. It was a nice day!

Now it's Monday....sigh.........

I hope you have a wonderful birthday and I am so looking forward to our girl's day/night tomorrow!! Ok, maybe not all that pumped for run but giddy for the celebration time :)

I love you!!

Go Opie Go Opie Go Opie!

Opie loves rap so last night I turned it on (cable music channel) and he stopped me at a channel/song he like and then danced and danced (he is a good dancer I might add!). Of course all was good til dad walks in the door, then we hear some words that made us go ohhhhhhhhhhhh ok no more dancing, let's play operation!

November

November is National Adoption Month, a month to raise awareness about all of the children around this world in need of a forever family. From foster care here in the US to an orphanage in Africa, there are way too many children who need someone to open up their hearts and adopt.

How is started? Well in 1976, the governor of Massachusetts, Michael Dukakis, announced an Adoption Week for his state. Later that same year President Gerald Ford proclaimed that Adoption Week would be celebrated nationally. As more and more states started to participate in Adoption Week it became clear that more time was needed for holding events and in 1990 National Adoption Week became National Adoption Month.

I don't believe adoption is for everyone but it was for us. Bob and I had our personal reasons for wanting to adopt from Africa, which in turn lead us to the greatest little boy :-) It took us well over 4 years from start to finish to bring our son home, not an easy process but all so worth it. We are lucky, Opie is home! There are several families still waiting for their children to come home, many of them I am friends with. Liberia hasn't moved on adoptions, it's been since December of 2008 a child came home. That is too long, way too long. Bob brought in albums to kids from their families when he went to Liberia in October of 2008, those kids are still there....waiting.

Hopefully soon things will start running again in Liberia for all those waiting. To unite the kids with their forever families. Hopefully Haiti will get moving and process Annie's adoption a little quicker so Matt and Tina can bring their daughter home. So many people I have met, know and been touch by through adoption. It's one of the greatest things no mater how long it takes to bring your child home!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!!
XOXOXOXOXO

Another day.......

Opie said this morning, "I haven't been at school for so long I had a dream about it last night". Poor kid misses school, but he won't be going back til Monday. An entire week out, that is a lot. His said his throat hurt last night, hurt to swallow. So it took him almost 1 hour to eat 1 1/2 pieces of bread and jello. He didn't want to eat it but he needed something in his stomach.
He still had an on and off again fever all day yesterday. At 3:06a this morning he threw up.
Bob took today off to be with him :)
Friday has not left Opie's side at all since he's been sick, not once! He's either laying by his side, on Opie's pillow curled up to his head or on his lap if Opie is sitting up. He is the best little brother ever to Opie, very best!!!! Opie loves it too!
Hopefully today will be the day the Opster will start to feel better!
